Honest review
A new resort in Ras Al Khaimah on a 400-metre mother-of-pearl beach of the Gulf — the emirate was famed for pearl diving for centuries, and the place plays on that history with taste.
The scale is substantial: 292 rooms and suites split between the main building and 29 villas. The pearl of the inventory is the 47 refined suites in the Maisons — the best fit for a family holiday.
Water here is an attraction of its own: 4 scenic pools totalling 6,000 sq m, the main Lagoon Pool being the largest in the UAE; the record was set almost on opening day.
The kitchens are Levantine, continental and Eastern European, with light snacks by the pool. And for connoisseurs there is a 'secret' bar and cigar lounge hidden behind sliding bookshelves, with an extensive wine list by the glass.
Be clear about one thing: nearly three hundred rooms make this a big, lively resort, not an intimate one. It suits families and groups who want space, pools and a beach in one place.
