Honest review
The first thing to check before booking is the renovation status. An upgrade programme was announced for 9 May to 31 October 2025: the result is refreshed rooms in building A and an updated Lagoon Pool, but during the works buildings A and B were closed, along with the restaurants Ariake, Portofino, Wangwarin, Pakarang and Latest Recipe and the activities of the Chaba wing. The conference centre ran on limited hours; the Karon ballroom stayed available for evening events.
What kept working throughout: rooms in buildings C and D, the Family Kids Club, Le Spa, the Mali Lawn, tennis and squash; for food — Similan Lounge, Tonson Restaurant & Bar, Beach BBQ, La Fiamma and the beachside dining areas. Work was carried out in daytime only.
The geography favours a calm holiday: Karon beach; for nightlife — 5 km to Patong; 15 km to Phuket Town and about 50 km to the airport.
The resort is worth considering for families and anyone who wants the big beach format on Karon — just check your travel dates against the outcome of the renovation.
