Planning Zanzibar after November 2025, take note of the change: Riu Palace Zanzibar has switched format and is now oriented towards family holidays. For families that is a plus; for couples without children, a reason to compare the options nearby.
The foundation is strong: the front line of Nungwi beach, one of the island's most beautiful — 500 metres of sand with an area reserved for resort guests.
For children there is the RiuLand club (ages 4–7 and 8–12, several times a week). For adults — the weekly RIU Party theme night, held next door at the 4-star Riu Jambo: the noisy evenings have been moved to the neighbours.
Logistics: 66 km from the airport (a 60–75 minute transfer), 3 km to the centre of Nungwi, 57 km to Stone Town — the old town is best kept for a separate excursion.
Who it is for: families choosing Zanzibar for the best beach in the north and a measured holiday without parties under the windows.
