Honest review
— this is the stunning sandy Dalawella beach, a coral reef, an abundance of greenery and tropical trees, a beautiful lagoon opening onto the ocean, and unforgettable impressions that will stay with you forever.
Dalawella beach around the hotel is fringed by a natural coral reef that shelters it from big waves. This is what makes it an ideal spot for swimming with children and for snorkelling. Soft sand, an absence of strong winds and fantastic views await you here. This is the beach from which we recommend enjoying the sunrises and sunsets. What's more, Dalawella is a gathering place for fishermen. They are fascinating to watch, because some use fishing methods all their own, and afterwards you can buy the fresh catch.
Unawatuna beach lies south of Galle, 1.5 km from the beach hotel. This beach is a paradise for anyone longing to enjoy the quiet of the sea and plunge into the blue waters of the ocean. It is also perfect for swimming, but it is here, too, that you can get a closer look at the marine life. Nearby is a fairly well-preserved coral reef that serves as a base for snorkelling and diving.
All the hotel's rooms are spacious, in a minimalist style and finished in natural materials. But the most important thing here is the view — and the way the hotel opens directly onto the beach. Beyond the stunning nature, you can enjoy the wellness treatments and massage offered by the hotel spa, or set off on a tour of the local sights. The hotel is only two kilometres from the centre of Unawatuna, and the Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya temple is a couple of minutes' drive away.
Soak up the calm of the sea breeze, watch the turtles and surfers right from your own balcony, and savour the orange-red rays of the setting sun. Devote this holiday entirely to yourself at the Sayura Beach hotel.
The hotel is 155 km from Colombo airport. The transfer takes about 2.5 hours.
