Honest review
A resolution to the eternal family argument of 'quiet beach or theme parks': here you get both. The base is villas in Phu Quoc's north among gardens and quiet white-sand beaches, many with their own pools and terraces.
The location's main trump is VinWonders Phu Quoc in the immediate vicinity: one of Asia's largest theme parks, with hundreds of rides, water slides, shows and aquariums. Set aside a full day for it — with children, possibly more than one. Nearby too are a safari park with rare animals and, for golfers, an international course amid primeval forest.
The grown-up part of the programme is Akoya Spa: aromatherapy, traditional massages, exclusive face and body treatments. Honest advice: alternate park days with spa days, or the holiday turns into a marathon.
Give the evenings to the food — restaurants of world cuisine, lounges and cafes overlooking the sea.
The format is family-first, but a couple that likes active adventures mixed with privacy will find plenty to do here.
